Our Story
Peak Paws Grooming was started to fill a need: an easy, loving, personalized dog grooming experience for the dog lovers of Missoula. Our goal at Peak Paws Grooming is to foster a welcoming, comfortable, and clean experience for you and your dog. We pride ourselves on open communication and putting the comfort of each individual dog as a high priority, while also using our decades of animal handling experience to accomplish what many other salons can't. We listen, and want to do whatever is best for you and your dog!
At Peak Paws Grooming, a grooming appointment is more than just one hair cut or one bath; it's a commitment to the culmination of grooming experiences for that individual pet, and it's our priority to do everything we can to ensure your pet has the best possible experience.
All the staff at Peak Paws Grooming are pet CPR and First Aid certified, and regularly pursue continuing education and certifications to better serve you and your pet.
We love connecting with the community!
We routinely do community events, including Pet Fest at Caras Park, and Project Community Connect at the Missoula Public Library, providing free nail trims, mat shaving, and fur color. We also regularly provide free grooming services for Missoula Animal Services. We love doing whatever we can to give back to our community!
Meet the Team
Owner, Stylist
Shannon Kimmell
Shannon has had a passion for animals her whole life. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Montana State University in 2018, and graduated from the PetSmart Professional Pet Stylist Academy in 2020. Since starting Peak Paws Grooming in 2022, she has worked in many different facets of the industry, including in-home grooming, mobile grooming, and in a salon setting. She has experience with creative grooming, breed cuts, and pretty much every pet trim you can think of! She loves the variety and individuality dog grooming brings, and loves connecting with people and their pets.
When she’s not working, she loves hiking with her dogs, playing softball, competing in AKC rally, and being a board member for the Five Valley Kennel Club.

Emma Powers
Emma joined Peak Paws Grooming in April of 2026, which is where she began her education in dog grooming. With a love for animals and a drive for creativity, she wanted to turn passion into profession; since then, she has continued to seek continued education to help further the quality of grooms provided to pet owners, as well as ensure the safety and comfort of all who come in.
In her off time, she spends most of it with her horse and dogs exploring new trails, sewing garments, and drawing.
